Man jailed for attacking paedophile with knuckle duster
A man has been jailed for two years after being convicted of attacking a paedophile in the street.
Nathan Murray, 21, struck the unnamed man in the face twice with a knuckle duster when he saw him outside an off-licence in Penywaun, Aberdare.
When arrested Murray told police: "I would have killed him because he is a pervert", Merthyr Tydfil Crown Court heard.
He admitted unlawful wounding and possessing an offensive weapon.
Andrew Davies, defending, told the court Murray knew a 13-year-old victim of the man and "harboured a grudge".
Judge Eleri Rees told him: "It is not for you to mete out justice – that is for the court to do.
"The courts take a dim view of those who take revenge or think that they should carry out justice. One cannot ignore that you have an appetite for violence."
