Family of Nida Naseer told of body found in Newport

Relatives of missing teenager Nida Naseer have been informed of a body found on the Gwent Wetland Site in Newport, police say.

Gwent Police were called to West Nash Road at 10 o'clock this morning.

A spokesperson said the body is yet to be identified.

A statement from police said: "The death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem is to take place.

“The body has yet to be identified. Nida’s family have been informed that a body has been discovered and that the body has yet to be identified.

"We continue to give them support during this distressing time."
