The parents of children who go to a school in Pontypool are worried about plans for an opencast mine in the Varteg Valley.

Torfaen Council refused plans put forward by Glamorgan Power but the Welsh Government has now said the company can appeal.

Jayne Lewis and Michael Weedall say they are concerned about the impact it would have on their children.

The Welsh Government said it does not comment on individual planning applications.
