Warning after Flintshire chemical discovery

Thousands of people in Flintshire are being warned about a potentially explosive chemical which was found at a factory. The council has written to 3,000 residents in the Sandycroft area after the find at the Euticals Limited plant.

Hazardous chemical found in Flintshire company

A hazardous chemical has been identified at the pharmaceutical manufacturing company, Euticals Limited, in Sandycroft, Flintshire.

Flintshire County Council has confirmed that potentially explosive pharmaceutical was discovered following a Health and Safety inspection.

The council will be delivering a public information bulletin to up to 3,000 local residents and businesses in the area.

Euticals Limited has temporarily ceased its operations pending laboratory analysis of the material and a permitted plan for its treatment and/or removal from the site to reduce the risk to public safety.

Members of the public and other companies in the vicinity will be advised of any specific precautions that need to be taken as and when necessary. Further announcements will be made when there are any further developments.
