Investigation continues after fatal crash at Caernarfon Airport

An investigation will resume this morning after a pilot died when a light aircraft crashed into the runway at Caernarfon Airport. Police said they were called at around 6.30pm along with fire crews and the ambulance service.

The victim was declared dead at the scene. The Air Accident Investigation Branch will conduct an enquiry.

One person dead after Caernarfon Airport crash

North Wales Police have confirmed one person has died after a light aircraft crashed on the runway at Caernarfon Airport on Wednesday evening.

Police were called at 6:29pm, but the pilot was pronounced dead at the scene.

A cordon is in place around the site and we are urging the public to remain clear of the area to allow the emergency services to deal with the incident. Enquiries into the full circumstances are ongoing and we are in contact with the Air Accident Investigation Branch.
