Stop smoking advice at shopping centre call-in store

Wales's first quit smoking shop has opened its doors in Cwmbran.

It aims to help people quit smoking altogether, rather than simply switching to e-cigarettes.

It is a trial by Stop Smoking Wales which, if successful, could result in more 'stop shops' opening across Wales.

The shop, which opens its doors in Cwmbran shopping centre, offers free advice and support as well as information on prescription medicine to help smokers kick the habit.

The quit shop is one of a number of new services being made available to smokers this year in Wales. Others include two mobile units which will tour the country giving stop smoking advice, and a new online quitting tool will be introduced to help smokers stop within 28 days.

The shop will be open from Monday to Friday from 9am until 5.30pm, with Saturday openings planned from next month.

The new Stop Smoking Wales 'quit shop offers free, professional and convenient support to anyone wishing to give up smoking...The shop works on a drop-in basis very much like an other retail outlet in Cwmbran shopping centre and we would urge smokers to call-in to take a look around."
