Two boats destroyed in Conwy marina fire

Two boats have been destroyed and people from neighbouring boats were evacuated in a fire at Conwy marina.

Fire crews were called to the incident at 1:49am Sunday morning (August 28).

A spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue said: "We sent one water incident unit and two fire engines. Two motor boats have sustained 100% fire damage."

One person who saw the fire said: "The boats were well alight. There were firefighters running up and down the marina. But I don't think anyone was hurt. People are just thankful that the fire didn't spread any further there are so many boats here."

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
