Investigation after body found in former sweet shop

An investigation has been launched after a body was found at a former sweet shop on Anglesey.

North Wales Police confirmed a man was found dead on Friday morning in Chapel Street, Llangefni.

A spokesman for North Wales Police said: "The body of a man was discovered this morning at an abandoned property on Chapel Street, Llangefni.

"CID and Scientific Support Unit staff are currently assisting local officers. No further details are available at this time."

The cause of death is currently unknown as inquiries continue.

Local county councillor Dylan Rees says it is "difficult" to make any comment without knowing the full circumstances, but added Llangefni was a low crime area with anti-social behaviour being the main problem.

Locals say they believe the shop has been closed for many years.
