Body found in wooded area in Mountain Ash

Police are treating the discovery of a woman's body in woodland as unexplained.

It was found in Mountain Ash on Tuesday and police say they are currently investigating the circumstances around the death.

Motorists were urged to avoid Darran Road in Mountain Ash as police attended the scene close to Duffryn Street on Tuesday.

The ambulance service says they received a call just after 1pm.

"We received a call today at 1:15pm to an incident at the top of the hill on Duffryn Street, Mountain Ash. We responded with an urgent care services vehicle and an emergency ambulance."
