Investment in e-gates at Cardiff Airport in bid to improve efficiency
Cardiff Airport has been given a one million pound funding boost for new e-gates at border control.
The Welsh Government grant has been given in a bid to improve efficiency at the UK Border. The money will be used to install the latest e-gate technology.
Passengers with a biometric passport will be able to scan their passport at border control rather than waiting for a manual check.
Cardiff Airport was one of the first in the UK to bring in e-gates but the original gates have been removed as new technology made them outdated.
Transport Secretary Ken Skates says the investment will improve efficiency at the airport.
