'On a one dog open sleigh': Man builds festive stairlift for elderly pooch

An ageing pet dog has had a special Christmas present to help him get down the stairs - his very own sleigh stairlift.

Timmie, a 16-year-old Jack Russell, has the stairlift gift in the shape of a sleigh after his arthritis stopped him bounding around his home.

Owner Duncan Evans from Carmarthenshire, created the red custom-built stairlift and designed it to look like Father Christmas' sleigh just in time for the festive season.

He decided to create the "Santa Paws" stairlift after Timmie hurt himself when he took a tumble down the stairs.

Timmie is seen dressed up as Father Christmas as he safely makes his way down the stairs thanks to the lift controlled by his owner.

Duncan said he began uploading to Youtube last year, and has recently been making videos detailing his inventions for Timmie.

They include an electric skateboard trailer to help take his dog for walks and a doghouse in the style of the Home Alone film.

Duncan said: "My passion has become making videos, and I'd like to do more how-to ones to help people make the things I make.

"If I can do that full time and make money, then that's the ideal situation."
