Four day Champions League Festival kicks off in Cardiff

The official Champions League Festival in Cardiff Bay kicks off on Thursday.

It's the main fan zone for the city.

The festival will formally begin at 11 am when final ambassador Ian Rush brings the UEFA Champions League trophies to the floating pitch in Cardiff Bay.

The trophy will then move to the festivals main square for photo and selfie opportunities.

Whilst the main event - Saturday's clash between Real Madrid and Juventus won't be screened at the festival, organisers UEFA say there is plenty to enjoy.

The Women's Champions League final will be the first big match of the weekend - an all French final which will see Lyon take on Paris Saint-Germain at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Lyon coach Gerard Precheur criticised UEFA after his players arrived almost an hour late for their last training session on Wednesday.
