New tools for parents to help children with maths

A new initiative has been launched by the Welsh Government to help get parents more involved with maths.

The new learning materials, including online videos, aim to make it less stressful for parents when helping out with things like maths homework.

Whilst all subjects are important for children, numeracy is particularly so.

In the international rankings Wales is behind all other parts of the UK when it comes to maths, and although this summer we have seen an improvement in our A-level results, there's still a lot to be done.

Wales' Education Secretary Kirsty Williams says overcoming a fear of maths could give your child a significant head start in life.
