Burnt out car can't be moved from park in case the owner wants valuables back, says council
A burnt-out wreck in a children's park couldn't be moved said council officials - just in case the owner wanted the valuables inside back.
Parents hit out at the "nonsense" decision to refuse to move the dangerous wreckage as children play around it.
The torched wreck has no wheels and was dumped in the park in the middle of the night.
Council officials in Cardiff had refused to tow away the charred shell - saying the owners have seven days to remove any valuables.
But tonight the council told ITV Cymru Wales News it would be removed on Friday morning.
Dad Tom Williams, 43 said:
The beaten-up Renault Megane has been abandoned in Splott Park in Splott, Cardiff, since the early hours of Tuesday.
The council says the owner has seven days to remove any valuables from the vehicle.
A concerned local resident Gareth Hawke tweeted the Cardiff council account asking for the car to be removed.
Gareth responded: "Even though it's been set on fire, missing two wheels and clearly undrivable?"
