Porthmadog is the warmest place in the UK - for the second time this week
Porthmadog has been the warmest places in the UK today.
This is the second time this week the northwest coastal town has topped the temperature chart.
On Wednesday 20th April temperatures reached 19.2 degrees Celsius but on Thursday they climbed just over a degree higher to 20.3, making it warmer than Rome and in the Algarve.
However, while the north was sunny and warm there was a marked contrast in central and southern counties.
With far more cloud and a frontal system starting to push in from the south places such as Libanus in Powys and Tredegar in Blaenau Gwent have seen temperatures struggle to exceed 11 degrees.
But, it's the end of the warm weather everywhere you are in the country as the rest of the week and even into the beginning of May look set to be plagued by lower than average temperatures.
