Man broke girlfriend's jaw when she switched off PlayStation
A boyfriend broke his girlfriend's jaw because she turned off his PlayStation midway through a game, a court was told.
Jay Cockburn, 24, from Aberystwyth in Ceredigion, flew into a rage when his partner pulled the lead out of his console.
The 18 year-old locked herself in a bedroom - but raging Cockburn smashed down the door to punch her.
Cockburn was spared jail because she told a judge she was happy for him to return home.
Swansea Crown Court heard his 18 year-old partner suffered a broken jaw.
The court was told she was initially embarrassed to speak about the attack and told her grandparents she had walked into a door.
However she later told police and Cockburn later pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm.
But Cockburn - who the court heard "had a history of violence" and previous convictions for battery - was handed a suspended sentence after his girlfriend asked a judge not to jail him.
She said: "This has made us realise how much we want to be together. I want him to come home."
Cockburn, of Cringoed, near Aberystwth was handed a 20 month sentence, suspended for two years.
