Wales the 'only UK country' to provide 24/7 end-of-life care

A new Welsh Government report says Wales is the only country in the UK to provide round-the-clock support and advice for people approaching the end of their lives.

The Welsh Government says its second annual report about palliative care in Wales also highlights 'excellent feedback from patients and their loved ones' about how services are making a difference to people's lives in their final days.

In 2012, the Welsh Government published plans to improve end-of-life care in Wales.

Last year, additional spending of £6.4 million was announced to help support hospices and provide end-of-life care across the country.
