A 50-year-old man remains in police custody after being arrested on suspicion of murder.

In a press conference, Det Supt Paul Hurley said:

"The tragic events surrounding the death of Tracey Woodford from Rhydyfelin has had a profound effect on her family and the wider community, especially when you consider the harrowing circumstances surround her death."

"There are well established communities in the South Wales Valleys and I know those communities will rally round and support Tracey's family and our investigation"

Tracey Woodford, 47, was reported missing by her family on Wednesday after she failed to return home from visiting a pub - where she is believed to have left with the suspect.
