To mark World Autism Awareness Day, Welsh care group Orbis are launching a new campaign to change the way members of the public perceive Autism.

Orbis Education and Care, based in South Wales, helps young people with autism to learn new skills and enjoy life through a range of activities.

Their new campaign 'Awesome! Super! Clever!' encourages the public to look beyond the condition, through a series of videos focusing on the unique qualities of people on the autism spectrum.

The launch of the campaign coincides with World Autism Awareness Day, held annually on April the 2nd, when charities and organisations come together to raise awareness of the condition, as well as funds to help support those with autism.

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects how a person communicates with, and relates to, other people.

According to The National Autistic Society Cymru, there are an estimated 34,000 people living in Wales with the condition which affects everyone differently. This means that some people live relatively 'every-day' lives, while other require specialist support.
