Seen the view? Paintings 'left' at beauty spots
Giant works of art will be left on their specially made easels along the Anglesey Coastal Path - in the very spot they were painted. The creations will form an ‘outdoor gallery’ and exposed to the elements.
The artworks will be on display from now until October - and they have been designed to withstand the rigours of storms and weathering.
British landscape artist Anthony Garratt will create "Four on Anglesey" in the space of a week, painting in situ at locations north, south, east and west on the island.
The paintings will take in iconic views of Caernarfon, Snowdonia, the Great Orme, the Lleyn Peninsula and the Irish Sea.
Anglesey resident Bun Matthews who commissioned the project says she hopes "Four on Anglesey" will encourage visitors, children and the island’s residents to pause and be inspired by the ‘double take’ on the view.
Painting will take place on the following dates:
Mon 23 - Tues 24 - Painting at Penmon Point
Tues (eve) 24 - Weds 25 - Painting on edge of Menai Strait nr Brynsiencyn, view of Caernarfon Castle
Thurs 26 - Fri 27 - Painting at Rhoscolyn
