A letter to Santa, that is thought to have been written nearly a 100 years ago, has been found at a boarding school in Monmouthshire.

The note was found hidden away in a chimney of a bedroom at the Haberdashers' Monmouth School for Girls.

The letter, which has been addressed to Santa, asks for a book named 'Tell England' and a fancy dress with shoes.

There's no date on the letter but the requested book was written in 1922 and is about a public boys school during the First World War.

The note was discovered when the school's caretaker was asked to go clear the chimney.

Andy Beddoes was cleaning the chimney when he discovered the note signed by the girl named 'Haly H'.

The letter will now be displayed along with a copy of the book on the walls of the boarding house.
