Church remembers iconic journey of Mary Jones

Mary Jones walked the 25 miles to Bala to buy a bible in Welsh Credit: ITV Wales

It's a story familiar to generations of Welsh school children; Mary Jones the young girl who who walked barefoot for over twenty miles to buy a Welsh Bible.

In the process she became a national symbol of faith, and the Welsh language.

Now a church on the outskirts of Bala has got a new lease of life as the home of Mary Jones World.
