American woman writes novel about Belfast rape

An American woman who was raped while she was out hiking in Colin Glen Forest Park in west Belfast in 2008 has written a novel about her ordeal.

The vicious attack on Winnie M Li happened in broad daylight.

The rapist - a 15-year-old boy - was sentenced to eight years in jail, but served only four and was released in 2012.

As Richard Cull reports, Winnie is hoping that publishing the story will help her put a dark chapter in her life behind her.
