Derry mum and daughter invited to Royal wedding

A mother and daughter from Northern Ireland will be among the guests at the Royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Julie-Ann Coll and her mother Catherine Cooke, both from the Waterside in Londonderry, received separate invites around 90 minutes apart.

Catherine, who works at the Foyle Women's Information Network, said she could not believe it when the postman arrived with the news.

She had just come off the phone to Julie-Ann, who had already learned of her own invite.

Mark McFadden spoke to the pair, who said they are “excited and honoured” after receiving their ‘golden tickets’.
