Johnson: We will not give false hopes of Syria no-fly zone

Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has said it is "vital we do not raise false hopes" of implementing a no-fly zone in Syria.

Speaking at the Foreign Affairs Select Committee on Thursday morning, he said: "We know the difficulties and the implications of a no-fly zone, or a no-bombing zone, no matter how easy those concepts may sometimes be made to sound.

"If there is more that we can reasonably and practically do together with our allies, then of course we should consider those measures.

"Believe me, that work is now going on."
