Syrian rebels and Turkish forces 'seize villages from IS'
Syrian rebels backed by Turkish armed forces have seized several villages from the so-called Islamic State militant group, a rebel official has said.
The villages, near the town of al-Rei - around a mile from the Turkish border - were taken back as part of a major assault on Islamic State forces as Turkey takes an increasingly aggressive stance in the conflict.
Zakaria Malahifji, from the Aleppo-based Fastaqim rebel group told Reuters news agency that "about eight" villages were seized after fighting.
