One of the candidates to replace Nigel Farage as Ukip leader has called for a total ban of Muslim state schools.

Cambridgeshire councillor Lisa Duffy said the move was required to tackle radicalisation.

In an interview with the Daily Express, she said: “I will be calling for the Government to close British Islamic faith schools.

“That doesn’t mean I am picking on British Islam, but if you think about what our security services are looking at 2,000 individuals that have come from those faith schools. When does indoctrination start?”
