The men were arrested after the chopper landed in Alexandroupolis in northern Greece, and will appear before a Greek prosecutor tomorrow.

Turkish ministers have demanded the men be extradited immediately, but two Greek government sources said they would first examine the men's requests for political asylum.

The Black Hawk helicopter they used to make the journey will be returned to Turkey immediately.
