Five police officers have been killed after they were shot in Dallas during a Black Lives Matter protest.

Second Dallas shooting victim named as Michael Krol

The second Dallas shooting victim has been named as Michael Krol.

Mr Krol, from Michigan, was one of the police officers shot during the Black Lives Matter protest.

He joined the Dallas Police Department in 2007 and had previously worked in the Wayne County Sheriff's Office jails from 2003.

"We are saddened by the loss of the dedicated officers in Dallas - one of whom was a former member of this agency - and also the wounding of the other officers," Sheriff Benny Napoleon said in a statement.

The first officer identified who was killed was Dallas Area Rapid Transit officer Brent Thompson.
