Donald Trump was joined by Rupert Murdoch and his wife Jerry Hall as he visited his golf resort in Aberdeenshire.

During his visit, the Republican presidential hopeful denied suggestions he had been snubbed by political leaders during his visit. When asked if First Minister Nicola Sturgeon had refused her invitation to visit Turnberry, he replied: "No I don't think so."

Mr Trump also said "he wouldn't be bothered" by Scottish Muslims visiting the United States if he becomes president, despite his proposed ban on Muslim immigration.

His arrival was preceded by a protest group carrying Mexican flags in response to his plans to build a wall at the border.
