Euro 2016: Police arrest 36 people after clashes in Lille

French police have arrested at least 36 people following clashes with football fans in Lille.

On several occasions police charged crowds of chanting supporters, and red flares were let off amid a tense stand-off with officers.

The clashes followed the conclusion of Russia's match against Slovakia and come ahead of the England and Wales match to be played in nearby Lens later on Thursday.

Euro 2016: Video footage shows fans being chased over barriers

Video footage from inside the Stade Velodrome this evening shows fans being chased across the stands and towards security barriers at the end of each row of seats after Russian supporters moved into the England fans' areas of the ground after the final whistle.

Backed into a corner the fans can then be seen clambering over the security fences and being pulled to safety on the other side.
