Euro 2016: Police arrest 36 people after clashes in Lille

French police have arrested at least 36 people following clashes with football fans in Lille.

On several occasions police charged crowds of chanting supporters, and red flares were let off amid a tense stand-off with officers.

The clashes followed the conclusion of Russia's match against Slovakia and come ahead of the England and Wales match to be played in nearby Lens later on Thursday.

Euro 2016: England fan suffers cardiac arrest during violence

During a third day of violence in Marseilles between football fans, one England supporter is reported to have suffered a cardiac arrest amid the fighting.

"The team haven't even made it to the pitch and yet England's campaign is likely to be remembered more for the violence, breaking of glass and tear gas that we have seen here than for what goes on when they are playing", ITV News Correspondent Emma Murphy reports.
