Crashed Egyptair plane's black boxes 'extensively damaged'

Search teams have retrieved the cockpit voice and flight data recorders from the EgyptAir plane which crashed into the Mediterranean in May, killing all 66 on board.

It is hoped analysis of the black boxes will shed light on why the plane crashed en route from Paris to Alexandria.

At present no militant group has claimed responsibility for bringing down the aircraft.

Egypt's civil aviation ministry: More wreckage found

Egypt's civil aviation ministry has confirmed more wreckage of the crashed airliner has been found.

Officials have said more sections of EgyptAir flight MS804 had been found in the Mediterranean Sea, along with body parts, luggage and passengers' seats.

In a statement, they said:

The Egyptian navy was able to retrieve more debris from the plane, some of the passengers' belongings, human remains, and plane seats. The search is ongoing.
