McDonnell: Labour needs to step up EU 'Remain' campaign

Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell admitted that Labour has not done enough in the campaign to remain in the EU.

He said the referendum "may well be close" and said that Labour will have to campaign with a strong voice in favour of 'Remain'.

He added his party had not yet done enough in the campaign as they are focused on local and mayoral elections.

"But as we move towards them, you'll see us upping our campaign and going on a stomp around the country," McDonnell said.
