Derailed train kills two in Philadelphia

Two Amtrak workers were killed when a passenger train derailed in Philadelphia on Sunday.

Amtrak said the train, en route from New York to Savannah, Georgia, struck a digger, causing the lead engine to come off the tracks.

In addition to the fatalities, more than 30 of the 341 passengers were treated for injuries.

Two people were killed when a passenger train derailed in Philadelphia on Sunday.

US rail service Amtrak said the train, en route from New York to Savannah, Georgia, struck a digger, causing the lead engine to come off the tracks.

In addition to the fatalities, more than 30 of the 341 passengers were treated for injuries.

The Northeast Corridor between New York and Philadelphia is currently suspended.
