A man has been shot by police at the US Capitol building in Washington after pointing a gun at officers.
The suspect and a female bystander, who was injured by "flying debris", were taken to hospital.
Larry Dawson, aged 66, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and assault on a police officer while armed.
A gunman who allegedly opened fire on Capitol Hill in Washington DC has been captured, according to the office of the Congress Sergeant-at-Arms.
