Frenchman arrested in 'advanced stages' of terror plot
A Frenchman has been arrested in the "advanced stages" of a terror plot, the French interior minister has said.
Bernard Cazeneuve said there were no links "at this stage" between the plan and the attacks in Paris or Brussels.
The man was arrested during a raid in Argenteuil, on the northern outskirts of the French capital. Bomb squads are on site, Cazeneuve said.
Witnesses said the immediate area was locked down as a search was conducted on a residential building.
Cazeneuve said: "The man arrested is a French national and is suspected to be involved in this project at a high level. He was part of a terrorist cell which was planning to hit our country."
