Australian woman kidnapped in Burkina Faso is freed
An Australian woman who was kidnapped with her husband in Burkina Faso by an al-Qaeda affiliated group last month has been freed, the President of Niger has said.
President Issoufou said "efforts are intensifying" to secure the release of her husband, who is a doctor.
Jocelyn Elliott and her husband were kidnapped on 15 January in northern Burkina Faso.
The couple ran a medical clinic and had lived in the country since 1972.
