Twitter down due to 'technical' problem

A major problem with Twitter this morning with the site saying: "Some users are currently experiencing problems accessing Twitter. We are aware of the issue and are working towards a resolution."

The fault is being widely discussed on TV and radio as broadcasters tell audiences not to tweet opinions to them.
