Footbridge battered as River Dee bursts its banks

Recent video shows the Cambus O’May footbridge over the River Dee in Aberdeenshire being battered by the raging floodwaters of Storm Frank.

The clip, filmed by STV News, shows the bridge - reportedly one of Prince Charles' favourite structures - almost fully submerged as the Dee bursts its banks, flooding the nearby town of Ballater.

Storm Frank brought heavy rains and flooding to the town overnight, forcing hundreds of residents to flee their homes.
