Ex-Arsenal midfielder not fit for Marseille debut

Abou Diaby is not yet ready to make his first appearance for Marseille as he seeks full fitness.

OM hoped the injury-plagued former Arsenal midfielder could feature in Friday's friendly against Nimes to build match-sharpness before the Ligue 1 season resumes after the international break.

But team doctor Christophe Baudot has ruled the 29-year-old out as the club take a careful approach to his integration.

"We will wait until he is 100 per cent in every regard," he told the club website.

"He is 100 per cent in some areas but not others. A player like him needs to be 100 per cent across the board.

"He cannot play on Friday because he needs to be right physically but also technically.

"He will train again from Monday through to Sunday."
