VW UK boss apologises for emissions scandal

The head of VW cars in the UK has apologised "unreservedly" for "significantly" letting down its customers in the diesel emissions scandal.

It comes days after the American boss of VW made a 'sincere apology' over the scandal which has affected more than 11 million cars worldwide.

Volkswagen 'to name and shame' emission scandal culprits

Car-making giant Volkswagen will begin naming and shaming those responsible for the emissions scandal tomorrow, reports suggest.

The company's supervisory board is expected to announce the successor to chief executive Martin Winterkorn, who resigned following revelations that 11 million vehicles worldwide had been fitted with software to cheat emissions tests.

They will also begin revealing the names of people who bore responsibility for the technical manipulation of emissions testing, according to Reuters news agency citing sources close to the matter.
