Rotherham boss quiet on Peterborough rumours

Rotherham boss Steve Evans will not discuss speculation linking him to the vacant managerial position at Peterborough until after his side's visit to Brighton on Tuesday.

Evans, who lives in Peterborough and has family who supports them, has been a favourite for the position at London Road since Dave Robertson's sacking last week.

It's no distraction for me. I have nothing to say about Peterborough United. My focus has been on Charlton and Brighton in the space of four days.

The chairman has given me his support. That's no surprise to Steve Evans. The surprise is the other drivel that comes with it.

I refrained from saying anything in the lead-up to Saturday. It would have been disrespectful to Peterborough United for me to talk about it.

If the chairman has made that comment, he's the head of our football club and I fully respect his words.

I said to the vice-chairman earlier in the week that I would not be distracted, that I wouldn't talk about. I'm only going to talk about it when we wake up after Brighton.
