Tim Farron has been elected as the new Liberal Democrat leader, following a vote of party members to decide who should succeed Nick Clegg.
Some 60,000 members were able to vote in the election to choose between Mr Farron and his rival, Norman Lamb. Mr Farron, the former president of the party, was the bookmakers' favourite to take the job.
