West Brom are keen on signing Matty Phillips but will need to pay QPR more than £5m for the winger, according to the Birmingham Mail.

Scottish winger Phillips was a rare bright spark for relegated Rangers in 2015, topping the Premier League's assists chart for the calendar year.

Chris Ramsey played an instrumental role in transforming his fortunes after replacing Harry Redknapp, for whom Phillips had become nothing more than a squad player.

While Ramsey is determined to keep his most creative player on board for QPR's Championship campaign, he has privately accepted Phillips is likely to remain in the Premier League.

The 24 year-old joined QPR from Blackpool for £5m in August 2013.
