Defender Alves pens new Barcelona deal

Dani Alves will stay at Barcelona after signing a new two-year deal with the European champions.

The Brazilian had looked set to leave the Nou Camp at the end of the month when his contract expired, but will stay in Catalonia until 2017 now.

There is also a clause in place to extend the contract for a third year.
