Arsenal target Martinez to leave Porto 'in coming days'
Jackson Martinez's agent has confirmed he will leave Porto "in the coming days" as Arsenal close in on the striker's signature.
The bookies make Arsenal slight favourites ahead of AC Milan to land Martinez, who scored 32 goals in all competitions for Porto last season.
Arsene Wenger has long admired and wanted the Colombian in his Gunners team, and even spoke fondly about his attributes earlier this year, explaining why Martinez is perfectly suited to English football.
In an interview with Portuguese newspaper o Jogo today, agent Luiz Henrique Pompeo said:
"The departure from Porto will be a reality in the coming days. Just the details are missing. Porto will receive the full £24.7m of his release clause. Jackson will continue in a top Euopean club."
It's thought that Porto are holding out for two or three of Arsenal's fringe players, believed to include Joel Campbell, as part of the deal.
