Apple set to unveil music service to rival Spotify
Apple is set to unveil a new music streaming service to rival Spotify at a world technology showcase on Monday.
The tech firm are expected to announce they will enter the streaming arena with a revamp of the Beats Music app at the Worldwide Developers Conference.
There are rumours musicians such as Drake and Pharrell Williams have curated special playlists to be included in the service, which is rumoured to cost £9.99 a month.
Marc McLaren, technology expert and online editor at Stuff.tv, said the event will also give consumers some early hints about what the next generations of iPhone and iPad - due in the autumn - will be like.
"Every iOS release is a big deal for Apple fans and that won't change with iOS 9.
"It's likely to include some tasty new features such as vastly improved maps and a split-screen feature for the iPhone 6 Plus and iPads, while also giving us a few clues about the new hardware we'll see in September.
"We're even more excited about Apple's new Beats Music-powered Spotify rival. Apple's already changed music once with the iPod and iTunes - this might see it do so again."
