Rail workers to strike next month

RMT workers are to stage a 24 hour and 48 hour strike next month after rejecting a new pay offer from Network Rail.

Members of the union at Network Rail will walk out for 24 hours from 5pm on June 4 and for 48 hours from the same time on 9th June.

The workers - including signallers and maintenance staff - will also ban any overtime between 6 - 12 June.

The industrial action is expected to cause widespread disruption to rail travel, sparking travel chaos across the country.
