Eight men appear in court over Hatton Garden jewellery heist

Eight men have been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged in connection with the Hatton Garden jewellery raid.

The men - aged between 48 and 76 - have all been charged with conspiracy to burgle.

Westminster Magistrates Court heard today that 73 safety deposit boxes, worth in excess of £10 million, were stolen over the Easter weekend.

Eight men due in court over Hatton Garden jewellery heist

Eight men are set to appear in court today charged with conspiracy to burgle in connection with the Hatton Garden jewellery raid.

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police's Flying Squad have charged Terry Perkins, 67, Daniel Jones, 58, Hugh Doyle, 48, all of Enfield, and William Lincoln, 59, of Bethnal Green, east London, and John Collins, 74, of Islington, north London.

Brian Reader, 76, and Paul Reader, 50, both of Dartford, and Carl Wood, 58, of Cheshunt, also face the same charge and all eight men will appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court.

A ninth man has been bailed pending further inquiries.
